Hebrews 12:22(a) But you have come to Mount
Zion, and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem...
They waited for a city, but you have come to a city - the heavenly
Jerusalem, called Zion. You have now come to a mountain called
Zion. You have come to a city. They waited but, (b)-23 ...to an
innumerable company of angels, to a general assembly and church of
the firstborn who are registered in heaven to God the Judge of all
and to the spirits, that means these people are now dead, of just
men, that means those who were righteous, made perfect.

Hebrews 11:39-40 says that they could not be made perfect, but
we have come to the city and to the spirits that are now perfect. They could not
reach perfection. They could not get the city because they waited for it. God
intended something better for us, therefore they were not made perfect. We have
come to this city and we have come to these spirits that are now perfect. That
means we have now come to the promise. We don't have to wait for it. We don't
have to see it afar off. We don't have to look for it. We don't have to struggle
in the flesh to get it. We have to know what the Bible says about the promise.

How did John see the revelation on the Isle of Patmos?
Revelation 1:9-10 I, John… was in the Spirit on the Lord's day.
Revelation 21:2 Then I, John, saw the holy city, the new
Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride
adorned for her husband.

They waited for a city and saw it afar off. They proclaimed that
they were strangers and that there was a heavenly city, therefore
God prepared a city for them.
Throughout the years people meant nothing for God on earth and
that is why the heathen, rebels and terrorists are doing what
they're doing - because the church is still waiting. They are
still waiting to go to heaven, waiting for their city. Abraham
waited for the city that was the promise. He saw it afar off. God
said, 'I've prepared that city for you.' They could not be made
perfect without us, but now, we have come to the city, to the
spirits of the perfect saints.
John saw the city. Revelation 21:3 And I heard a loud voice from
heaven saying, 'Behold the tabernacle of God is with men, and He
will dwell with them and they shall be His people. God Himself
will be with them and be their God. Jesus stood on the mountain in
Matthew 28 and said, 'Go preach the gospel to all nations, lo, I
am with you, but just before you get into big a hurry - first go
wait in the city of Jerusalem'.
Revelation 21:6 And He said to me, 'It is done! ..."

The things that John saw were already
finished.
Revelation 21:9 Then one of seven angels, who had the seven bowls
filled with the seven last plagues came to me...
This verse was fulfilled in Zechariah talking about the seven last
plagues, which were poured out on Jesus Christ when He hanged on
the cross.
" He paid the complete price.
" God poured out judgement on Jesus.
" He took our judgement on the cross.
" He died for our sins on the cross.
" He shed His blood on the cross.
" The wrath of God was poured out.
" He was stricken, smitten and afflicted of God.

Revelation 21:9 Then one of
seven angels, who had the seven bowls filled with the seven last
plagues came to me and talked with me saying, 'Come I will show
you the bride, the Lamb's wife. John, if you don't understand -
it's the Lamb's wife. Check up in the dictionary - a bride is not
the one standing in front of the pulpit, going to get married -
the bride is the newly wedded woman.
Revelation 21:10-11 And he carried me away in the spirit, to a
great high mountain and he showed me the great city, the holy
Jerusalem descending out of heaven from God, having the glory of
God. Her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper
stone, clear as crystal. .................................
